  1. 1. Diagnosis of Synoptic Weather Patterns Causing Heavy Rainfall Occurrence Using Self-Organizing Maps

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Aoi Kasai; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Self-Organizing Map; heavy rainfall frequency; classification; meteorological fields; prediction; heavy rainfall risk; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The annual number of events with precipitation over 50 mm/h have increased from 1970s and this trend is likely to be continued due to climate change in Kyushu, Japan. Therefore, it is important to recognize what kind of meteorological fields have contributed to the occurrence of heavy rainfall events and to reveal whether it is possible to diagnose heavy rainfall risk. 2. 2. Study on future storm surge around Suo-nada Sea

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Ayano Sonoda; [2019]
    Nyckelord :storm surge; Suo-nada Sea; numerical simulation; FVCOM; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Japan lies on an area frequently hit by typhoons while city functions are clustered along the flat coastal areas, hence Japan has experienced lots of storm surge disasters up to the present. Coastal areas along the Suo-nada Sea also have the vulnerability against storm surge and in the past Typhoon 18 in 1999, Typhoon 16 and 18 in 2004 made remarkable damages in the areas. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Frequency analysis of heavy rainfall related to synoptic weather patterns in Kyushu Island, Japan by using the Self-Organizing Map (SOM)

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Norihiro Ohashi; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Heavy rainfall frequency; Self-Organizing Map; Pattern recognition; Meteorological fields; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Recently heavy rainfall frequency in Kyushu Island, the southwestern part of Japan, during the rainy season, has been increasing due to possibly climate change, global warming. Owing to the recent increase of heavy rainfall frequency, natural disasters related to heavy rainfall including flooding and landslides have occurred and caused serious damages to infrastructures and human lives. 4. 4. A 3D-ultrasound guidance device for central venous catheter placement using augmented reality

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Medicinsk teknik

    Författare :Magnus Jansson; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Augmented Reality; Central Venous Catheterization; Mechanical complications; Guidance system.;

    Sammanfattning : Central venous catheterization (CVC) is performed frequently in clinical practices in Operation Rooms(OR) and Emergency Rooms(ER). CVC is performed for different reasons such as supply nutrition or medicine. For CVC ultrasound (US), diagnostic device is preferable among other medical imaging technologies. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Success Factor of Woody Biomass Supply Chains in Japan

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Energiteknik

    Författare :Amanda Ahl; Johanna Eklund; [2016]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : There is an abundance of forest in Japan, yet a lack of utilization of woody biomass in energy systems. Small-scale woody biomass can enable a supply chain based on domestic forest integrated with local industry and demands, in turn facilitating local vitalization. LÄS MER
