  1. 1. Optical Communication using Nanowires and Molecular Memory Systems

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik

    Författare :Thomas Kjellberg Jensen; [2024]
    Nyckelord :neuromorphic computing; nanowire; molecular dye; DASA photoswitch; OBIC; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Neuromorphic computational networks, inspired by biological neural networks, provide a possible way of lowering computational energy cost, while at the same time allowing for much more sophisticated devices capable of real-time inferences and learning. Since simulating artificial neural networks on conventional computers is particularly inefficient, the development of neuromorphic devices is strongly motivated as the reliance on AI-models increases. 2. 2. Simulated molecular adder circuits on a surface of DNA : Studying the scalability of surface chemical reaction network digital logic circuits

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Jakob Arvidsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Surface chemical reaction networks; Molecular computing; DNA computing; Circuit simulation; Adders; Ytbundna kemiska reaktionsnätverk; Molekylär beräkning; DNA-beräkning; Kretssimulering; Additionskretsar;

    Sammanfattning : The behavior of the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) molecule can be exploited to perform useful computation. It can also be ”programmed” using the language of Chemical Reaction Networks (CRNs). One specialized CRN construct is the Surface Chemical Reaction Network (SCRN). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Nyckelord :super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 4. 4. Accelerating a Molecular Docking Application by Leveraging Modern Heterogeneous Computing Systems

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Gabin Schieffer; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Molecular docking; AutoDock; GPU; Tensor Core; Drug Discovery; Molekylär dockning; AutoDock; GPU; Tensor Core; Läkemedelsutveckling;

    Sammanfattning : In drug development, molecular docking methods aim at characterizing the binding of a drug-like molecule to a protein. In a typical drug development process, a docking task is repeated millions of time, which makes optimization efforts essential. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Spectroscopic model characterisation of hot exoplanet atmospheres

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Elin Sandvik; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Transit method; Transmission spectroscopy; Exoplanets; Hot Jupiter; Modelling; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Hot Jupiters are gas giants under intense stellar radiation with short orbital periods of only a few days. Due to their large radii, hot temperatures, and large scale heights, hot Jupiters can be observationally characterised in detail through spectroscopy over an entire orbital phase. LÄS MER
