  1. 1. Exploring electroweak symmetry breaking in the scale-invariant Two-Higgs-Doublet Model

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Erik Rustas; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Two-Higgs-Doublet Models; 2HDM; Scale-invariance; Baryogenesis; BSM; Baryon Asymmetry; Coleman-Weinberg Potential; Theoretical Particle Physics; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the properties of a general scale-invariant Two-Higgs-Doublet Model and its phenomenological consequences with focus on the scalar sector. The concept suggests that introducing more CP-violation, both spontaneous and explicit, may make it possible to meet the Sakharov conditions and account for the Universe's baryon asymmetry. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Characterization of Lamps of IRF Solar Simulator

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Rymdteknik

    Författare :Mrunmayee Sonna; [2023]
    Nyckelord :IRF; Solar simulator; Characterization; Thermal simulations; Systema-Thermica; Autodesk Inventor; correlated results;

    Sammanfattning : The Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF) at Kiruna focuses on research activities in the ionosphere, magnetosphere, and upper atmosphere of the planet as well as the development and production of various sensors and detectors for space research. The test facility includes the IRF SpaceLab which is equipped with multiple testing equipment. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Exploring New Physics Through Collider and Gravitational Wave Measurements with Artificial Neural Networks: the Case Study of QCD-like Technicolor

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Ashar Ahmed Kamal; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Artificial Neural Networks; ANN; Beyond the Standard Model; BSM; parameter space scan; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : With physicists actively exploring Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) theories that may fill in the gaps of the Standard Model (SM), a fundamental question arises: which parameters hold physical significance? In this thesis, we present our initial progress towards the development of a model-independent artificial intelligence framework designed for conducting parameter space scans in BSM scenarios. Our framework incorporates several publicly available high-energy physics packages, namely SPheno, HiggsBounds, HiggsSignals, and CosmoTransitions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On quantum systems and the measurement problem

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Fysikum

    Författare :Nicolas Boulle; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Quantum physics; the measurement problem; quantum information; Hilbert spaces; physical systems; unitary; collapse; Euler angles parametrization; Copenhagen interpretation; many- world; measure;

    Sammanfattning : We focus on the Tensor Product Structure (TPS) of the Hilbert space and the fact that a choice in the TPS has an impact on the representation of the studied quantum system. We define the measurement problem in quantum mechanics and present some theories about quantum mechanics, each of them highlighting a different approach to quantum measurements. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Investigation of Antenna Radomes in Low Earth Orbits

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Författare :Mathias Manohar Gren; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Materials; Science; Space; Satellites; Antenna Radomes; Beyond Gravity; Coatings; Physics; Chemistry; Low Earth Orbits; Engineering; Lunds University; Materials Chemistry; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: This master’s thesis focuses on exploring improved alternative material solutions for antenna radomes used to protect Beyond Gravity Sweden’s satellite antennas in low Earth orbits. Background: As the environment in low Earth orbit is harsh, surface materials on satellites experience high levels of atomic oxygen, ultra violet radiation, thermal-fluctuation, charged particles and micro meteoroids.
