1. Stratigraphy and palaeoenvironment of the early Jurassic volcaniclastic strata at Djupadalsmölla, central Skåne, Sweden
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionenSammanfattning : From the almost 200 volcanic outcrops in the Central Skåne Volcanic Province (CSVP), only three are of volcaniclastic material. These volcanoclastics, and the transition to the underlying crystalline basement, have been investigated for the first time in a drill core (KBH2) from Djupadalsmölla in order to understand the stra-tigraphy, depositional process, age of deposition, and depositional environment. 2. Archaeological dental calculus reveals patterns of dietary shifts related to the farming transition in Africa
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildningSammanfattning : Archaeological dental calculus represents a depositional environment that entraps oral microbes, and debris of dietary, environmental, and cultural material that entered the mouth throughout the host’s life. Hence, they represent valuable archives of information about the host’s lifestyle, health, and environment. LÄS MER
3. Reconstructing Mid-Late Holocene Arctic Climate Using Loess Deposits From Kangerlussuaq, Greenland
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : The current geological epoch, the Holocene, began 11,700 years ago. During this time, a thermal maximum in temperature was reached somewhere during the early-middle stage at 8-5 kyrs ago which was followed by a period of neoglacial cooling, culminating in the little ice age (LIA). 4. Grain Size Analysis of Late Pleistocene Loess Deposits, Jersey
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : As the world faces the effects of rapid climate change it is essential that we understand how the Earth’s climate has evolved in recent geological history. The island of Jersey harbours loess deposits which hold clues to recent climate change which have not been extensively studied. LÄS MER
5. Late Quaternary Climate Reconstruction Using Rock - Magnetism in Loess on Portelet, Jersey
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Loess is a very fine aeolian sediment that can be used as a proxy for stadial and interstadial glacialperiods. To understand how Earth’s climate have changed and what effects that change have had on theplanet and life on it we can use climate archives. LÄS MER
