  1. 1. The common meadow EuropeanGrasshopper (Chorthippus parallelus)as a window to the process ofspecies formation

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Enrique Celemín Amaro; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Speciation genomics; Phylogeography; Species tree; Incomplete Lineage Sorting ILS ; Gene tree discordance; Postglacial expansion; Secondary contact;

    Sammanfattning : Despite more than 50 years of research on the genetic basis of speciation, we still know very little about the early stages of this process. A general rule of speciation is the Haldane’s Rule, which states that postzygotic isolation is expressed earlier in the heterogametic sex: sterility and inviability in hybrids is much more likely to occur in the heterogametic sex. 2. 2. Mitochondrial DNA phylogeography of Norway spruce (Picea abies) in Northern Europe

    Master-uppsats, Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Md.Hasan Sahid; [2012]
    Nyckelord :Norway spruce; Genetic consequences;

    Sammanfattning : Norway spruce (Picea abies L. Karst.) is an important conifer tree species widely distributed in Europe. Genetically, the population of this large range is divided in two differentiated groups: a southern and a northern European group. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On the origin of the mountain hare on the island of Gotland : By means of ancient DNA analysis

    Master-uppsats, Arkeologiska forskningslaboratoriet

    Författare :Hans Ahlgren; [2011]
    Nyckelord :aDNA; Lepus timidus; Gotland; Stora Karlsö; mtDNA; migration; phylogeography;

    Sammanfattning : The island of Gotland houses a number of terrestrial mammalian species even though it was covered with ice during the last glacial period. The purpose of this study is to genetically analyse the mountain hare (Lepus timidus) to deduce its origin and genetic structure during different time periods, and also to discuss how it reached the island.
