  1. 16. Comparison of soil CO2 efflux between different surface covers on a clear-cut and forest stand in southern Sweden, Hyltemossa

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Pamela Huskin Okinedo; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Soil CO2 efflux; Soil respiration; Soil moisture; Soil temperature; Clear-cut; Forest stand; Net ecosystem exchange; Photosynthetically active radiation; Carbon.; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Large amounts of carbon in the terrestrial biosphere are stored in forest ecosystems and its soil. Once the forest ecosystem is disturbed the release of this carbon can drive positive feedback to global warming. Humans impact the forest ecosystem through clear-cutting for wood production and other commercial purposes. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Energy balance closure, water balance, carbon exchange, and water use efficiency : observed and modeled outcomes for a managed, hemiboreal forest in Southern Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Linsey Marie Avila; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Energy balance; energy balance closure; energy balance ratio; net radiation; sensible heat; latent heat; turbulent fluxes; ground heat flux; energy storage; available energy; Bowen ratio; evaporative fraction; latent heat of vaporization; water balance; evapotranspiration; precipitation; water storage; water discharge; gross primary production; ecosystem respiration; net ecosystem production; carbon exchange; water use efficiency; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The claims for the potential of boreal and sub-boreal forests to combat negative effects of climate change have been substantial with over half of Earth’s primary forests found within boreal and temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Given the likely occurrence of more extreme climate events in the future, ascertaining a better understanding of how climate effects, such as profound fluctuations in precipitation, decreases in yearly snow, faster snow melt rates, variability in evapotranspiration due to environmental stress, and related changes in the energy, hydrological, and carbon cycles will change these northern, boreal landscapes is crucial. 3. 18. Forest Reaction to the 2018 Drought : comparing the Hyltemossa and Rumperöd Forests

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Emily Delin; [2019]
    Nyckelord :forest; drought; forest management; ecosystem flux; physical geography and ecosystem science; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This paper analyzes the reactions of two forests, located in the same region, to drought conditions that occurred in 2018. Both locations experienced similar conditions including higher temperature and less precipitation than the previous four years. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Bacterial and fungal responses to drying and rewetting using bronopol or cycloheximide as inhibitors

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildning

    Författare :Simon Lin; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Drying-rewetting; respiration; growth rate; growth response; Earth and Environmental Sciences; Biology and Life Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Microbial decomposers breakdown soil organic matter, releasing carbon dioxide (CO2) to the atmosphere. This release of CO2 could therefore contribute to future climate change. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Koldioxidflöde från mark i sydskånsk lövskog, en jämförelsestudie med avseende på dikeskvalitet

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Alexander Nordström; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography and Ecosystem analysis; CO2-flux; deciduous forest; soil respiration; forest drainage; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Att dika skogar till förmån för bland annat bättre tillväxt kan påverka och förändra faktorer som marktemperatur och markfuktighet vilka är de viktigaste faktorerna för markrespirationen och flödet av koldioxid till atmosfären. Markrespirationen svarar för huvuddelen av koldioxidflödet till atmosfären från ett markbundet ekosystem. LÄS MER
