Stöd till patienter med cancersjukdom : En systematisk litteraturstudie ur sjuksköterskors perspektiv

Sammanfattning: Background:Nurses can meet patients with cancer in different areas of care. Patients with cancer have an impact on their entire life and experience life differently after diagnosis. Patients appear to need individualized support from healthcare providers, where the nurse can play a key role. Aim:The purpose is to describe nurses' experience of supporting patients who suffer from cancer disease. Method:A systematic literature study with a descriptive synthesis where 12 articles were analyzed. Result:Based on the compilation of results, it was divided into two themes: To support the patient and Need for knowledge development for nurses. Based on themes, 5 subtems emerged: Meeting patient needs for help by being patient and to see the whole patient, Providing support in terms of information, Providing adapted support for relatives, Need to be able to use the technical equipment and Specialized knowledge and relevant training. Conclusions:Nursing experience showed that support for cancer patients can look different, depending on the patient's current condition and needs.
