Tillsyn, folköl och ungdomar : Hur relaterar tillsyn och densitet av detaljhandeln inom Stockholm till ungdomarnas alkoholvanor

Sammanfattning: In this paper we evaluate Stockholm’s methods of enforcing age related sales regulations on type 2 beer, which is the strongest type of beer that can be sold in a privately owned businesses in Sweden. Quantitative methods are used to ascertain whether the amount of regulatory goals met has any relation to the amount of youths acquiring type 2 beer, and if other apparent demographic or geographic explanations are apparent in youth’s consumption patterns. No apparent relation was found between regulatory goals met and consumption patterns. The only predictive variable was found to be population density, where higher density correlated with lower use of type 2 beer. Although this could be a result of the four highest population density areas having radically different consumption patterns compared to the rest of Stockholm. Qualitative methods were also used to evaluate internal reporting from the different districts, the format and content of reports were found to vary greatly. More research is required to ascertain whether the consumption patterns are a consequence of preventative methods specific to Stockholm contrary to an emergent property of high population cities, or something else entirely.
