Sammanfattning: In the last decade, the value of diversity has been an important question for companies. The finance industry, and Corporate Finance in particular, are lacking women at all seniority levels. Several studies conclude that the primary issue is the difficulty to attract women to the industry. Some also discuss potential issues in the recruitment process. Despite different opinions regarding which process is the most critical to change, it is clear that companies lose talented women and the industry remains dominated by men. This qualitative study, performed at four Swedish banks, aims at identifying processes that are crucial to change the current situation at the junior level in Corporate Finance. Previous research regarding gender as well as attracting and recruiting potential employees are presented. The study will then proceed with identifying the most important aspects within these processes. In the empirics, this study identifies the recruitment process as the most important process. Within the recruitment process the most critical aspects regarding the change of gender distribution are to develop a longer recruitment process and perform the process with clear claims and expectations. This can potentially be done by including personnel from HR.
