1. Exploring electroweak symmetry breaking in the scale-invariant Two-Higgs-Doublet Model
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : This thesis investigates the properties of a general scale-invariant Two-Higgs-Doublet Model and its phenomenological consequences with focus on the scalar sector. The concept suggests that introducing more CP-violation, both spontaneous and explicit, may make it possible to meet the Sakharov conditions and account for the Universe's baryon asymmetry. LÄS MER
2. Studying Elliptic Flow in High Centrality Pb-Pb Collisions using Proton Collision Background Fitting
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysikSammanfattning : In this report, the elliptic flow in high centrality Pb-Pb collisions is calculated using two particle correlations $v_2\{2\}$ but without any imposed separation in η with data taken from the ALICE experiment at CERN in 2015. Instead, measurements of the same correlations in proton-proton collisions is used as a background to account for non-flow effects and data is correlated between the time projection chamber and the forward multiplicity detectors in order to avoid intra-jet correlations. 3. Non-Diffractive Nuclear Excitations In Angantyr
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : To better understand collectivity in high energy physics, the heavy-ion collision model Angantyr was developed to be included in the event generator Pythia. In this model, proton-proton collision phenomenology is extrapolated to heavy-ion collisions without assuming a thermal plasma for particle production. LÄS MER
4. Analysis of Simulated Charm Baryons : Decay Kinematics and Parameter Estimations for Studies with the Belle II Experiment
Kandidat-uppsats,Sammanfattning : A fundamental assumption of our universe has been that equal amounts of matter and antimatter were created during the Big Bang. Since the world we live in is made entirely of matter, one either needs to question this assumption, or explain how matter was enriched with respect to antimatter. LÄS MER
5. Forward-Backward Multiplicity Correlations for Proton-Proton Collisions with ALICE at LHC-CERN
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : This thesis presents the study of two-particle pseudorapidity correlations in pp-collisions at √s = 13 TeV using the ALICE detector at LHC, CERN. The correlation function was calculated as a function of multiplicity and was repeated for several multiplicity classes and different charge combinations in the forward-backward and central regions of the detector, respectively.
