The theories that were used in correlation to the analysis were street-level bureaucracy, research minded practitioner and stigma to provide more understanding of the social workers’ position in the authority and their work with clients with NDD. The identified main themes were the social workers’ experience of meeting with clients with NDD, professional knowledge of NDD and no man land. The subtheme treatment in meeting were identified in the first main theme. The conclusions are that social workers’ do not have enough knowledge to meet clients with NDD in a functional way. This means that clients need to rely on the socialworkers’ experience, personality and actively seeking knowledge.
