Brandskydd ombord fartyg i Victoriaklassen

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Brandteknik

Sammanfattning: In this report the fire safety on board vessels in the so called Victoria-class has been evaluated. A series of tests were conducted in a container at Revinge with the purpose to analyze the self-activation temperature and extinguishing effects of pyrotechnically generated aerosol (PGA) devices. The ventilations influence on the fire behavior and how the hull material is affected by fire were also assessed. Results showed that self-activation should not be used as an activation method in the engine room on board Victoria-class. Tests also showed that the ventilation conditions has great influence on both the behavior of the fire and the ability to achieve required concentration of the extinguishing agent. Regarding the hull material results showed that critical temperatures were reached within a few minutes.
