Sammanfattning: This thesis aims to perform a case study of a house concept by analyzing it with the help of any of the established green building certification systems that are currently on the market. The case study object for this thesis is KUNO, a house concept developed by Henrysson & Thulin. Between 2017 and 2018 14 KUNO-houses are being built at Parallelltrapetsen in Ängelhom, and Henrysson & Thulin are interested in getting an insight into how KUNO would perform energy and environment-wise and to improve and further develop the concept. The work process of the thesis consists of a literature review and a case study. The report begins with the literature study, where the areas energy, indoor climate and material are described as well as what should be considered regarding these areas while designing and constructing houses. Furthermore, five green building certification systems have been studied in relation to their respective evaluation areas and criterias. The literature review has worked as a ground for the analysis in which the certification system best suited for the case study was chosen. The analysis showed that the certification system Miljöbyggnad was deemed to be the most appropriate for the case study. The result of the case study showed that around half of the total 15 indicators were not possible to evaluate due to lack of documentation during the project. The remaining indicators that were possible to evaluate showed a varying result regarding the final grading. Following the result, an analysis was made in order to provide suggestions for increasing the grades on the indicators that were evaluated. The analysis also aimed to inform Henrysson & Thulin on how to approach the remaining indicators in order to make them possible to evaluate. The conclusions that could be made from the result of the literature review and the case study were that a comparison with a green building certification system like Miljöbyggnad requires thorough planning in the early stages of the project. A green building certification generally implies a lot more than simply comparing the building’s calculated performance to the requirements stated in certification system. It was also concluded that Miljöbyggnad may be best suited for KUNO but less so for Henrysson & Thulin as they are not responsible for management of the completed buildings.
