Utan tak över huvudet : En diskursanalys om hemlöshetens framställning i nyhetstidningar under tidsperioderna 1990-1995 och 2015-2019

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to investigate how homelessness is described in newspapers during two different time periods from a social constructivist and discourse theoretical perspective and then to compare these descriptions. The analyzed material consists of 20 news articles. 10 of these are from the period 1990-1995, and 10 from 2015 - 2019 from various newspapers. Based on four different problem components, our material was read and coded using Håkan Jönson's (2010) analysis scheme. The results showed that the representations of homelessness in the media were the same during both time periods, but there were some differences in the representations. The differences that emerged in the material were that the profile of homeless people has changed over the years. There were also differences in the emergence of the secondary housing market in relation to the homeless, but also in the growing gap among the citizens in society.
