Sammanfattning: The study presents the design, construction, and performance evaluation of a direct solar dryer with a focus on enhancing the post-harvest preservation of fruits. The increasing demand for the dry fruits in both the local and export markets demand effective and environmentally friendly drying methods. Conventional sun-drying (open air drying) techniques are labor-intensive, time consuming, and subjected to contamination. To overcome these difficulties, a direct solar dryer that is affordable was designed in this research.
