Sammanfattning: The world today faces many different environmental problems, which has a negative effect. These are both global, regional and local, which means that they affect all people. To be able to overcome this and be able to promote a long-term sustainability, it is essential that all contribute and take responsibility for it. An example of doing this is to get more people to commute rather than using the car. To get more people to use public transport, there are various methods of achieving this. This report will be about how to design a piece of land near a train station to make more people to commute by more environmentally friendly means of transport. More specific it is about how a well applied planning of settlements can give Svalöv a larger amount of people to use the public transport, which will be available through the county in 2021. The planning of the land near the station in this paper are based on three key words, which are sustainability, environment and safety. This is to gain certain results and define the paper. The area is to promote sustainable development and thereby get as many people as possible to use the public transport. Sustainability refers to planning for such a way that the station will be used as much as today and in the future. Safety was selected because many of Svalövs public transport travelers are children travelling to and from school. Especially children must be able to get to the schools by commute without being involved in traffic accidents, the environments they are passing through has to be made as safe as possible. Through meetings, dialogue with Svalöv municipality and Skånetrafiken, has been conducted for information and comments. Conversations with Svedala municipality have been conducted to find out what they thought about the relocation of ICA in Svedala. Conversation have also been conducted with ICA in Svedala in order to get an even clearer picture of the impact of this relocation. This is a center of gravity in the analysis and is an example of a concrete configuration of a piece of land in close vicinity of a train station in Svalöv. The size of the land near the train station in Svalöv allows for almost infinite possibilities.
