  1. 1. Polymerization of Zwitterionic Sulphobetaine Methacrylate and Modification of Contact Lens Substrate

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemivetenskap (CHE)

    Författare :Tobias Ingverud; [2015]
    Nyckelord :Zwitterionic; Sulphobetaine; RAFT; ATRP; End-group-modification; Grafting-to; Contact lens; zwitterjonisk; RAFT; ATRP; ändgrupps modifiering; ympning-till; kontakt;

    Sammanfattning : In this study, the zwitterionic monomer [2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl] dimethyl-(3-sulfopropyl) ammonium hydroxide (SBMA) was polymerized in a controlled manner by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. The SBMA was also polymerized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) but in a less controlled manner why ATRP was discarded for further use in the study. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Modification of nanofibrillated cellulose with stimuli-responsive polymers

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemivetenskap (CHE)

    Författare :Carmen Cobo Sanchez; [2012]
    Nyckelord :thermoresponsive; nanofibrillated cellulose; biocomposites; block-copolymer; stimuliresponsive;

    Sammanfattning : Research of new sustainable and low cost materials, such as cellulose, is of high interest. Modifications of the cellulose can be performed in order to create a “smart” material which responds to external stimuli, such as variations in pH and temperature, by changing its properties. 3. 3. Investigation of the effect of UV-Crosslinking on Isoporous membrane stability

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Ytbehandlingsteknik

    Författare :Doàn Minh Ý Nhi; [2011]
    Nyckelord :Polymer; Honeycomb film; Isoporous membrane; Polystyrene; UV-crosslinking;

    Sammanfattning : Polymeric isoporous membranes have many interesting properties leading to various specific applications in different fields. However, such structures also have one main drawback, namely their poor solvent stability, which should be improved to extend the range of their possible applications. LÄS MER
