  1. 11. Is there a benefit of super spikes in long jump performance?

    Master-uppsats, Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan, GIH/Institutionen för fysisk aktivitet och hälsa

    Författare :Erik Svensson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Long jump; long jump performance; AFT; super shoes; super spikes; carbon fiber plate; athletics; track field; jump; biomechanics; sprint; speed; force;

    Sammanfattning : Background and aim The pace of development of distance running shoes has been fast-forward since 2016 when Nike introduced their model Nike Zoom Vaporfly, with an imbedded carbon fiber plate and an advanced newly developed Pebax®-foam. The shoe-development has continued to track events, with the introduction of carbon fiber plate in several shoe-models for running and sprint- events. LÄS MER

  2. 12. A Petrographic and Paragenetic Characterization of the Ertelien Ni-Cu Deposit (Norway)

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Alena Niarezka; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Ertelien Ni-Cu deposit; ore geology; enrichment processes; nickel; cobalt; copper; optical microscopy; electron probe micro-analysis; critical metals; Ertelien Ni-Cu fyndighet; malmgeologi; anrikningsprocesser; nickel; kobolt; koppar; optisk mikroskopi; elektronsondsmikroanalys; kritiska metaller;

    Sammanfattning : The escalating demand for metals driven by advancements in renewable energy technologies and hightech products has underscored the significance of understanding and characterizing ore deposits. This study focuses on the Ertelien Ni-Cu deposit in Norway, a region rich in nickel, cobalt, and copper resources—essential components for the transition to a sustainable energy future. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Optical properties in chalcogenide glasses and their temperaturedependence. : Literary survey and experiments.

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för materialvetenskap

    Författare :Matilda Karlsson; Saifallah Khaled Ali; Erik Lundqvist; Ask Löthman Ybo; Kalle Sigås; Oscar Törnquist; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Chalcogenide materials; Chalcogenide glass; Optical properties; Temperature dependence;

    Sammanfattning : This study aimed to investigate methods for determining the temperature dependence of the refractive index and absorption of IR-transparent materials through literary studies and experimental tests. Results from the experimental trials were hard to obtain due to the inherent difficulty of measuring optical properties and yielded only temperature trends of transmittance and reflectance. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Feasibility Study of X-ray Free Electron Lasers in Fourth Generation Storage Rings

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/MAX IV-laboratoriet

    Författare :Jordis Hansen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :XFEL; Storage Ring; Synchrotron Radiation; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis studies the feasibility of a cavity based X-ray free electron laser in a fourth generation storage ring. The cavity design allows for modulation of the electron beam over several passes through the undulator. Simulations based on the PETRA IV facility are done to create the photon flux spectrum of a light pulse produced by an undulator. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Is the Expression of Hemolysin Co-regulated Protein (Hcp) Associated with Serum Resistance in Aggregatibacter aphrophilus?

    Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Tandläkarutbildning

    Författare :Clara Settlin; Selva Hot; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Aggregatibacter aphrophilus; hcp; T6SS; serum resistance;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract  Aggregatibacter aphrophilus, a Gram negative bacterium, found in the oral cavity, causing cerebral abscesses and infective endocarditis, has been shown to be serum resistant in previous studies. Bacterial secretion systems are important for bacteria as they transfer virulence factors into other bacteria or host cells as an attack. A. LÄS MER
