Personers upplevelser av livskvalitet vid diabetes typ 2 : en litteraturbaserad studie

Sammanfattning: Background: Type 2-Diabetes is a widespread global health problem affecting approximately 10.5% of the adult population aged 20–79 years. The disease is characterized by insulin resistance, affects the body's regulation of blood sugar levels, and can lead to serious complications such as microangiopathy. The quality of life for people with type 2 diabetes is closely linked to how the disease affects their everyday life. In order to assess the adaptation to the disease and the management of its physical and psychological challenges, the persons experiences of quality of life are crucial. Aim: The aim is to investigate how people with type2 diabetes experience their quality of life. Method: The study was conducted as a literature-based study based on qualitative research. The databases Cinahl and PubMed were used to search for articles, of which 9 articles were selected for the results. The collected data was analyzed based on Friberg's (2017) five-step process to identify key findings. Results: Three main themes emerged: healthy lifestyle choices; challenges and success factors, factors that deteriorates the quality of life and factors that improves the quality of life that answered the purpose of the study. Conclusion: The results indicate that people with type 2 diabetes face challenges in disease management. In order to support these individuals and improve their quality of life, a holistic view and individual centered care is required.
