1. Genetic consequences of translocations in the Doñana population of the endangered Iberian lynx
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildningSammanfattning : Conservation genetics for endangered species is crucial in long-term conservation actions.Inbreeding depression and genetic diversity are main genetic parameters with relevance toconservation. The Iberian lynx was by 2002 the most endangered felid in the world. LÄS MER
2. Parentage Assignment using genetic markers in the common carp (Cyprinus carpio)
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Animal Breeding and GeneticsSammanfattning : This study investigated the effect of varying single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) marker density, error threshold selection, and different SNP selection strategies on parentage assignment accuracy in carp populations. Using a marker set of 15,615 SNPs, we found a positive correlation between the quantity of SNP markers and the accuracy of parentage assignments, consistent with existing literature. LÄS MER
3. Integrative Approaches Illuminate Evolutionary Divergence in the Bar-tailed Lark Complex ( Ammomanes cinctura)
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildningSammanfattning : Ammomanes cinctura (Bar-tailed Lark) is a lark species with a wide distribution in the Palearctic. One of its subspecies, A. c. LÄS MER
4. Exploring the genetic cause of myotonic dystrophy in horses
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Animal Breeding and GeneticsSammanfattning : Myotonic Dystrophy (MD) is an inherited neuromuscular disorder that leads to a wide range of clinical signs including stiffness, abnormal muscle relaxation, and muscle atrophy or hypertrophy. Affected muscles develop a prolonged contracture in response to percussion of the muscle and show waxing and waning complex repetitive discharges in electromyography (EMG). LÄS MER
