Brandgasventilation i stora lokaler

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Brandteknik

Sammanfattning: The aim of this study is to investigate parameters that influence the effectiveness of the two main methods of smoke management, thermal and mechanical smoke ventilation, to determine when one of these methods is favorable to the other. To accomplish this simple hand calculations as well as more advanced computer programs, such as FDS and Argos, were used. The study was conducted in collaboration with IKEA and the analysis was based upon IKEAs mall in Malmö. The results show that several parameters such as wind, outdoor climate, roof height and the heat release rate of the fire all affect the smoke management systems. These factors should therefore be addressed when the choice between thermal and mechanical smoke ventilation is made. The results also show that the amount of make-up air as well as the amount of smoke ventilation both greatly affect the conditions that arise within the burning building.
