“Som att bygga ett slott med hjälp av sand” - Individens upplevelse av att komma tillbaka till arbetsplatsen efter sjukskrivning för utmattningssyndrom.

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Institutionen för psykologi

Sammanfattning: The aim of this research is to describe the individual’s experience of exhaustion disorder (burn-out) and return to work. Previous research have shown a lack of perspective on the individual. The research questions are about how return to work is experienced and perceived and the factors that have seemed to work well and less well. From that information a discussion about how to develop the return to work for all parts will be presented. This is a qualitative research study with phenomenological method which means that the study should capture the participants feelings, thoughts and emotions, but the study does not aim to explain them. Six individuals between 37-57 years of age have participated in the study by answering a questionnaire, participate in a semi structured interview and have filled out the Karolinska Exhaustion Disorder Scale. The results showed that the conformation of return to work varied, and the majority experienced an insufficient support from their employer. The rehabilitation process have in most cases been adapted for the organisation’s best and not for the individual. In addition to a lack of support from the employer there exists a incomprehension from other colleagues and the society in general.
