Sammanfattning: This bachelor thesis was conducted by Otto Lindblad, Måns Olström and Ivana Trujic. It´s an empirical qualitative study that is meant to give the reader a deeper understanding of how teachers practice leisure home in Swedish schools while they use the outdoor environment. The study was conducted by using observations in the outdoor environment in the schools and interviewing teachers in leisure homes. The theoretical outpost in the study is the sociocultural perspective, and our results were analyzed with the same perspective in mind. The results that our study shows are the teachers approach to the outdoor environment that is crucial to what the pupils do in the outdoors. Some other results that we found are that the outdoor environment near the school and the design of the schoolyard also affect the pupils possibility to learn and to play outside. We also found through our observations and interviews that the teachers that are outdoors in the break time are important to the pupils because the teachers make them feel safe. The outdoor and how we view it, is a very interesting subject that we believe is going to be a subject for research for many years to come.
