Förbättrad process för avvikelsehantering som grund för bättre leveranssäkerhet : Avvikelsehantering vid leverantörsfel

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Jönköping University/JTH, Produktionsutveckling

Sammanfattning: Purpose: The business venture where the work was carried out do not handle the process of deviation management in an optimal way. By an optimal way, it is meant that all handling may lead to a reduction in deviations over time, and to improve the suppliers that are part of a collaboration with the business. Thus, the study aims to: Provide a proposal for an alternative solution that ensures that the number of deviations is reduced in the long term. Method: To achieve the purpose, the work was divided into three issues. Based on the questions, the improvement method A3 with associated tools were used as a basis for answering the shaped questions. A current situation description was performed using a methodology that includes observation, where the entire flow for handling deviations was followed. With this information, a flow chart could be drawn. With the flow chart and the observation as background, interview questions could be formed to get a more precise understanding of the issue regarding the internal process for deviation management in the event of supplier errors. Once the analysis was performed, concept generation and concept screening could be performed. Findings: Since the root causes turned out to be an unclear and non-standardised process that also lacks process owners, four alternative solutions were generated. Two out of these solutions proceeded through screening using Pugh´s matrix and both was presented to a third part actor who validated the ideas. The actor agreed with the results from the screening and together we decided that the fourth concept was the winning solution. Implications: The fourth solution puts the burden of proof on the supplier and forces the supplier to take more responsibility over the supplied material. This liberates capacity from operations, hence more focus can be placed on other improvement work. It is also this solution that could possibly reduce the number of deviations in the long term. Limitations: However, what is a limitation with the solution proposal is that it is a comprehensive solution. Some preparation is required for the implementation of the solution. An example is that the purchasing department is more involved in this solution. Thus, they will need more resources to this department and it must be decided upon this after all parties agree. Hence, this solution may take time to implement.
