Från bullrande barriärer till urbana oaser En kulturhistorisk studie av företeelsen att överdäcka infrastruktur

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för kulturvård

Sammanfattning: Capping infrastructure refers to the partial or complete covering of roads or railways with reinforced concrete and steel structures. This transforms the traffic route into a tunnel-like structure with buildings, parks, and vegetation on top. The lack of a definitive definition of the term stems from the challenge of (in some cases) distinguishing it clearly between whether the structure is a lid, or a tunnel, or an extension of a tunnel. This study aims to investigate the concept, its origin, the development, international examples, and the terminology linked to these structures. The methodology involves various research methods such as literature review and data collection from databases, web sources, and correspondence.
