Sammanfattning: This thesis aims to investigate how teachers are using manipulatives in mathematics at advanced undergraduate level in universities. This will also showcase their usefulness in the classroom. The research is conducted via oral interviews of four teachers in the area. The main conclusions are that manipulatives are useful in that they actively engage students in the classroom, and help them verbalise and see consequences of theory.
