  1. 1. Evaluation of strategies for construction of protease libraries in yeast.

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik

    Författare :Sidharth Jaya Sankar; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Yeast; GFP-fusion technology; protease; applied microbiology; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Proteases are a group of enzymes that are involved in breaking down larger proteins into smaller polypeptides or single amino acids, and they are used in various applications. In this project, the potential of budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as host for the construction of protease libraries is evaluated. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Utsöndrade extracellulära vesiklar (EV) från hästens spolmask Parascaris univalens och deras immunmodulerande roll

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, SLU/Dept. of Biomedical Sciences and Veterinary Public Health

    Författare :Karin Tufvesson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Extracellulära vesiklar; Parascaris univalens; hästens spolmask; ST2; DUSP1; PCR;

    Sammanfattning : Under det senaste decenniet har ett nytt forskningsområde vuxit fram som handlar om kartläggning av extracellulära vesiklar (EV) från parasiter samt hur de kan påverka värddjurets immunförsvar. EV är lipidmembranförsedda blåsor innehållande bland annat proteiner och nukleinsyror och som används för cellkommunikation. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Design, expression and purification of virus-like particles derived from metagenomic studies : Virus-like Particles (VLP) of novel Partitiviridae species, Hubei.PLV 11, and novel Soutern pygmy squid flavilike virus were designed, expressed using the bac-to-bac expression system and then pruified using various methods

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Diyar Ayranci; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Virus; virus-like particles; VLP. Western Blot; SDS-PAGE; Chromatography; partitivrus; partitiviridae; flaviviridae; flavivirus; Hubei partitilike virus; Southern Pygmy Squid flavilike virus; protein purification; protein characterization; PCR; Cloning; metagenomic; strucutral biology; cryo-em; bac-to-bac expression system; vaccines; arbovirus; arthropod-borne virus;

    Sammanfattning : Viruses are entities which are made of a few genes and are reliant on obligate parasitism to propagate. Due to the obligate connection to their hosts, virus evolution is constrained to the type of host. Viruses however do transmit to evolutionary distinct hosts; in these cases, the phylogenetic relationship of the hosts usually are close. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The potential of Schistosoma-derived substances for use as basis for novel anti-haemostatic therapeutics: : A systematic review

    Kandidat-uppsats, Örebro universitet/Institutionen för medicinska vetenskaper

    Författare :Jonas Li; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Parasites belonging to the Schistosoma genus exert an anti-haemostatic net effect upon infection of a definitive host, despite numerous mechanisms that should be pro-haemostatic. The anti-haemostatic mechanisms are thus highly interesting, as they may be leveraged for use as basis for novel anti-haemostatic therapeutics. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Algae in Chicken Feed : The Colonization of Two Different Strains of Campylobacter Jejuni in Chicken Fed with Laminarin Extract

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologi

    Författare :Gustav Tällberg; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Laminarin; Algae; Campylobacter; Chicken; Host specificity; Agriculture;

    Sammanfattning : In the last two centuries, the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and nitrogen in the oceans have steadily risen due to human action. This has resulted in a changing climate with higher mean temperatures globally and more eutrophic sea waters. LÄS MER
