  1. 1. Greenhouse gas emissions and carbon burial in a small pond

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Maria Carlson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Pond; greenhouse gas; carbon dioxide; methane; nitrous oxide; flux; ebullition; carbon burial; Damm; växthusgas; koldioxid; metan; lustgas; flöde; ebullition; kolbindning;

    Sammanfattning : There are a lot of uncertainties when it comes to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions which affects society’s ability to effectively respond to climate change. Small ponds have been found to potentially play a large role in global warming. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Geologisk karaktärisering av den kambriska Faluddensandstenen i Östersjön och dess lämplighet för koldioxidlagring

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Kaisa Bengtsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Koldioxidlagring; djupt liggande akvifer; Faludden; St. Sutarve-2018; CO2-storage; deep saline aquifers; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU) has spent several years investigating the Swedish bedrock to find suitable bedrock for geological storage of carbon dioxide. Deep saline aquifers are considered to have the greatest potential, and the Cambrian Faludden Sandstone subcropping in the Baltic Sea east of Gotland, shows great potential as a storage aquifer. 3. 3. Drivers of decomposition across Sphagnum bog margins

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för miljö- och livsvetenskaper (from 2013)

    Författare :Emil Nordström; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Peatlands; tea bag index; edge effects; carbon storage; carbon sequestration; waterlogging; Torvmark; kanteffekter; kollagring; koldioxidbindning;

    Sammanfattning : Peatlands provide multiple ecosystem services, including extensive carbon sequestration and storage, yet many peatlands have been degraded or destroyed. Peatlands carbon storage capacity is connected to inherently low decomposition rates, causing the build-up of organic matter. 4. 4. Organic carbon getting buried deep: A study on a subtropical reservoir and comparisonwith a chain of reservoirs.

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Emma Åkerman Fulford; [2017]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases are widely known to have damaging effects on the world’s environment. In the search for green energy, recent studies propose that hydropower, which is considered a renewable source of energy, contribute significantly to the emissions of carbon dioxide and in particular methane gas to the atmosphere. 5. 5. Spatiotemporal reconstructions of black carbon, organic matter and heavy metals in coastal records of south-west Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Marcus Rudolf; [2016]
    Nyckelord :organic matter; spheroidal carbonaceous particles; black carbon; geology; physical geography; Ecosystem analysis; heavy metals; coastal sediments; Sweden; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This study presents reconstructions of black carbon (BC), including spheroidal and amorphous carbonaceous particles (SCP and ACP), organic matter (OM; total organic carbon, TOC; total nitrogen, TN; total sulfur, TS), and heavy metals (Fe, Zn, Pb, Cu, As and Hg) in coastal sediments off the south-west coast of Sweden. Sediment records from eight stations along a north-south transect off the south-west of Sweden were retrieved. LÄS MER
