  1. 1. The Sound of Skepticism Analyzing Climate Change Denial in Swedish Podcasts and YouTube Channels

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / / Institutionen för sociologi och arbetsvetenskap

    Författare :Victoria Vallström; [2024-02-14]
    Nyckelord :denialism; climate skepticism; social movements; countermovements; digital media; digital data; computational grounded theory; topic modeling; computational text analysis;

    Sammanfattning : This study explores Sweden's climate change denial by analyzing the spoken-word discourse of its countermovement, focusing on digital media content from Swedish parliament member Elsa Widding with an aim to provide empirical insights into the discourse of Sweden's Climate Change Countermovement (CCCM). Questions guiding this study are: What are the most prevalent topics and themes related to climate change denial and skepticism? How do they align with established categories of climate change denial, shaping the overall narrative? What mobilizing ideas and meanings are present, how are they shaped, and how do they contribute to the movement's goals? The material consists of Elsa Widding's complete audio-based "movement texts'' from 2019-2023, including YouTube content, podcasts, and appearances on Riks, totaling over 2000 minutes of audio transcribed into text via AI technology. Sammanfattning : This thesis is dedicated to exploring and understanding public reactions within negotiated peace settlements based on social media data. Concretely, to modeling public opinion and sentiment within the context of the Colombian peace process using a curated dataset of N= ~1. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The production of recombinant 6LZE_A and NS2B-NS3 in E. coli

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (master); Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (CI)

    Författare :Raluca Svensson; [2024]
    Nyckelord :coronavirus; dengue; protease; pandemic; SARS-Cov-2; DENV; viral replication; proteins; Escherichia coli; DL-BAPNA; computational modeling; recombinant protein production; biotechnology; Biology and Life Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Even though the first coronavirus pandemic was registered in 1965, SARS-CoV-2 was better acknowledged when it caused the worldwide pandemic in 2019 in which millions of individuals lost their lives. Due to its facile way of spreading from one individual to another, the number of infected cases has gone up to more than 750 million to this day. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Modelling Micropollutant Removal Through Ozonation in Wastewater

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Författare :Maximiliano Andrés Oportus Foster; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Micropollutants; water reuse; wastewater treatment models; ozonation; computer modeling; water and environmental engineering; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Proper management of water resources is a key to climate change adaptation and resilience in modern societies. Adequate treatment of wastewater is essential for ensuring the sustainability of the water cycle and the health of the environment and the ecosystems that inhabit it. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Computational Fluid Dynamics and Modeling of a Free Surface Flow

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)

    Författare :Mathieu Marmier; [2023]
    Nyckelord :CFD; Free Surface Flow; VOF; STAR-CCM ; Multiphase Simulation; Nuclear Engineering; Fluid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : This project deals with the CFD modelling of a free surface flow. The aim is to develop and validate a fast and accurate numerical model for stratified two-phase flows. Volume of Fluid (VOF) multiphase model is employed. The purpose is to use the developed numerical model for the design of an element within a compact nuclear reactor. LÄS MER
