    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the potential relationship between support for radical right-wing parties and the increased employment rates of women in member states of the European Union. While previous research has predominantly focused on immigration, by virtue of grievances, as a driver of radical right-wing support, this study explores whether increases in the employment ratio of women can also be perceived as a threat and contribute to this support.     Sammanfattning : On the 23 September 2020 the European Commission launched the Pact on Migration and Asylum, introducing five legislative proposals, which inter alia aim at ensuring that only people with clear protection needs enter the European Union (EU). To reach this objective, the European Commission introduced a so-called pre-entry phase, consisting of firstly, the proposed screening procedure, a five-day procedure to quickly identify applicants that are in need of protection and those that can be returned, and secondly, a mandatory asylum border procedure for certain categories of applicants, including asylum seekers from countries with a recognition rate of 20% or lower.     Sammanfattning : This paper is about understanding which of two securitizing theories are the most dominant within the EU discourse from 2015 when immigration rose dramatically to the EU and up to 2019 when a new regulation heavily expanded the authority of Frontex, the European border- and coastguard. The two theoretical schools are the Copenhagen School, based on the thoughts of Ole Wæver and Barry Buzan and colleagues, and securitization based on International Political Sociology, mainly based on the thoughts of Didier Bigo.
