  1. 1. The Neoproterozoic Visingsö Group of southern Sweden : lithology, sequence stratigraphy and provenance of the Middle Formation

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Viktor Ahrenstedt; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Neoproterozoic; Visingsö Group; sequence stratigraphy; provenance; lithology; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The depositional setting of the Neoproterozoic Visingsö Group has long been a subject of discussion. This study aims to provide additional insights into the lithological composition and provenance of the sediments and to provide a sequence stratigraphic framework in order to define the depositional setting. 2. 2. Depositional history of the Neoproterozoic Visingsö Group, south-central Sweden

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Viktor Ahrenstedt; [2017]
    Nyckelord :sedimentology; depositional history; Visingsö Group; Neoproterozoic; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The Neoproterozoic sedimentary rocks of the Visingsö Group are one of few remaining rocks from this time. They provide a vital clue to understanding how the landscape looked at this time. The various environmental factors that prevailed and affected deposition are key to paint a bigger picture. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Biodiversity of Organic-Walled Eukaryotic Microfossils from the Tonian Visingsö Group, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Corentin Loron; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Organic-walled microfossils; Tonian; cyst; green algae; eukaryote; Visingsö Group; Mikrofossil med organiska cellväggar; tonian; cysta; grönalger; eukaryot; Visingsö gruppen;

    Sammanfattning : The diversification of unicellular, auto- and heterotrophic protists and the appearance of multicellular microorganisms is recorded in numerous Tonian age successions worldwide, including the Visingsö Group in southern Sweden. The Tonian Period (1000-720 Ma) was a time of changes in the marine environments with increasing oxygenation and a high input of mineral nutrients from the weathering continental margins to shallow shelves, where marine life thrived.
