16. Renormalization in Field Theories
L3-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysikSammanfattning : Several different approaches to renormalization are studied. The Callan-Symanzik equation is derived and we study its beta functions. An effective potential for the Coleman-Weinberg model is studied to find that the beta function is positive and that spontaneous symmetry breaking will occur if we expand around the classical field. 17. Matrix Integrals : Calculating Matrix Integrals Using Feynman Diagrams
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysikSammanfattning : In this project, we examine how integration over matrices is performed. We investigate and develop a method for calculating matrix integrals over the set of real square matrices. LÄS MER
18. Decomposing Colour Structures into Multiplet Bases
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : In this thesis a method for decomposing QCD colour structures into multiplet bases is described. The method is applicable for any number of gluons and quarks. To achieve the decomposition requires the knowledge of group theoretical weights, so-called Wigner 3j and 6j coefficients. LÄS MER
19. Dynamics of the η' meson at finite temperature
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/KärnfysikSammanfattning : At the present time it is unknown how the U(1)A anomaly of Quantum Chromodynamics behaves at high temperatures. We therefore want to look for thermal changes of the effects of the anomaly. LÄS MER
20. Sunset integrals at finite volume
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : In this thesis we present a method for the calculation of finite volume corrections to the sunset diagram, for arbitrary masses and powers of the propagators. We also present numerical results showing the dependence of these corrections on the volume, which is an exponential decay for large volumes. LÄS MER
