  1. 1. Smoltification status of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) in relation to migratory success and migration speed in a regulated river

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet

    Författare :Johanna Högvall; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Atlantic salmon; juvenile downstream migration; parr-smolt transformation; regulated rivers; dams; migration delay; radio-telemetry; Atlantlax; vandringshinder; smoltifieringsgrad; reglerade älvar; radiotelemetri;

    Sammanfattning : There is a concern that the ecosystems around the world are suffering from fragmentation. Ecosystems such as rivers have lost their connectivity to a large extent due to hydroelectric dams with no or insufficient passways for the natural flow of organisms, matter and energy. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Linking habitat characteristics and juvenile density to quantify Salmo salar & Salmo trutta smolt production in River Sävarån, Northern Sweden

    L3-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Johan Molin; [2008]
    Nyckelord :mapping; flow; substratum; electro-fishing; parr; radio-telemetry; spawning;

    Sammanfattning : Even though the European Union has set up goals for rivers that support wild salmon to reach a production that is 50% of the MAXIMUM natural potential, there is a general lack of knowledge about the production capacity of salmonids in Sweden. To estimate the production of salmon and sea trout in the Sävarån river, I combined habitat mapping with available electro-fishing data. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Störs laxens lekvandring i en kraftverkspåverkad älvsträcka?

    L3-uppsats, SLU/Dept. Of Aquatic Resources

    Författare :Johan Lundgren; [2006]
    Nyckelord :lax; lekvandring; flödesförändringar; torrfåran; radiomärkta; pejling;

    Sammanfattning : The upstream spawning migration of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) at the confluence area between the power-station outlet and the bypass-channel in river Umeälven (flow 430 m3s-1) was compared in 2004 and 2005, two years with different experimental flow-regimes. In 2004 the water flow in the bypass-channel was altered during the day with increased flows during the nights while the water flow in 2005 mainly was altered between the weekdays and weekends.
