  1. 16. Thinking Outside of the Organisational Box; How Private Firms Can Invest in Nature-based Solutions at the Watershed-level to Manage Agricultural Water Risks in California’s San Joaquin Valley

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Internationella miljöinstitutet

    Författare :Ethan Dunnenberger; [2023]
    Nyckelord :water scarcity; agriculture; private sector; risk management; nature-based solutions; watershed restoration; San Joaquin Valley; water security; value; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Nature-based solutions (NBS) can provide a range of benefits to tackle acute sustainability challenges in an enduring and cost-effective manner. Increasing recognition of the value of these solutions has led to their adoption across the globe. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Analysing the effects of 24/7 Carbon-free Energy procurement strategies on the electricity system : Case Study of commercial and industrial sector in the Netherlands

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :NINA JABŁOŃSKA; [2023]
    Nyckelord :24 7 Carbon-free Energy; carbon accounting; corporate electricity procurement; Energy Attribute Certificates; hourly matching; the Netherlands.; 24 7 kolfri energi; koldioxidredovisning; företagens elupphandling; energiattributcertifikat; timmatchning; Nederländerna.;

    Sammanfattning : Considering the growing importance of the electricity sector in the worldwide decarbonisation efforts, as well as large volumes of energy consumed by the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector, corporate power procurement is found to be a significant contributor to building a net zero economy. Within this topic, hourly matching of carbon-free electricity supply with demand, or 24/7 Carbon-free Energy (24/7 CFE), is identified as a next-generation power procurement framework, with growing interest from a wide range of stakeholders in the energy sector and benefits backed by robust research evidence. 3. 18. Defining an Evaluation Model for Container Orchestration Operator Frameworks

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Författare :André Arnesson; Samuel Alberius; [2023]
    Nyckelord :container orchestration; cloud native application; operator; software framework; evaluation model; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The growing complexity of cloud native applications has necessitated the intro- duction of operators to the container orchestration tools’ suite of components. Operators affords developers the ability to encode domain knowledge and make fine-grained controllers for their Kubernetes clusters, radically extending the range of feasible applications to host. 4. 19. En experimentell studie om VVC & KVC-värmepump för att motverka legionella

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Anton Julin Wallén; Arijan Ghassemloi; Marvina Mukamisha; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Denna studie har som syfte att främst motverka legionellabakterier i tappvattnet som kan bildas och växa om tappvattnets temperatur ligger inom riskområdet på 20–50 °C. Inandning av legionellabakterier kan leda till pontiacfeber eller den dödliga sjukdomen legionella. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Ecological risk assessment of pesticide use in rice farming in the Mekong Delta , Vietnam

    Magister-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Bubaraye Ohiosimuan Dirikumo; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Pesticides; Ecological Risk Assessment ERA ; rice farming; Mekong Delta; PRIMET Model; Exposure Toxicity Ratio ETR ; species sensitivity distribution SSD ; predicted environmental concentrations PECs ;

    Sammanfattning : Pesticide use in rice farming is a common practice in the Mekong Delta and poses ecological risks to aquatic organisms, the environment, and human health. This study focused on the ecological risk assessment of pesticide use in rice farming using the PRIMET model as a decision support tool to evaluate the risks of pesticide exposure, ecotoxicity, and risk characterization, as well as employing the species sensitivity distribution (SSD) assessment model to calculate the potentially affected fraction (PAF) of species based on the computed predicted environmental concentrations (PECs) from PRIMET.
