Sammanfattning: Background: In each care situation, the nurse communicates with the patient. The concept of communication is more suitable to use than conversation when communication is related to caring in more ways in comparison with conversations. Previous research shows that when communicating with the nurse the patient wants the nurse to provide information, take time and listen and show openness and interest in what the patient tells. The basis for communication between caregiver and patient is based on relationship and community between the two. The Patient Act (2014: 821) strengthens that the patient should receive information about different care elements if the patient wants it. Problem: In some situations, the nurse's knowledge and experience of communication fails, and the nurse cannot therefore help the patient, resulting in the nurse's guilt and frustration. Aim: To describe nurses' experiences of communication in caring. Method: The work has been carried out as a systematic literature study according to Evans (2002) of scientific, qualitative articles Result: The nurse needed to show empathy and love to communicate with the patient but experienced shame and frustration in non-verbal communication. The nurse wanted more education and felt that more understanding is needed in communication. Conclusions: Being able to communicate with the patient as a nurse is considered one of the most important components for the patient's well-being, but the nurse was perceived to be task-centered. Keywords: communication, experiences, nurse
