Sammanfattning: The following report is written at bachelor level at Mälardalens university in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The project involves improving the existing mounting fixture for walls, for the company Husmuttern AB in Eskilstuna. Husmuttern AB is a company that manufactures modular houses from standardized components.  The existing wall mounting fixture, which they use to build up wall modules, works with a powerful electric motor. This electric motor allows the fixture to rotate 180°, because otherwise the workers will not be able to mount the parts that are in the middle of the wall module. The fixture is made of steel and placed in their premises.  The purpose of this thesis is to produce a concept proposal, in the form of a CAD model, for a new improved mounting fixture. The two questions in this report are how the fixture can be designed to cope with outdoor environments, be transportable, not be dependent on electricity and be ergonomically designed. The second question is what constitutes an ergonomic fixture.  The method used for the project’s processes is from different product development theories. Among other things, Ulrich and Eppinger’s product development method (2014) has been used as it is both easy to adapt to one’s project and to follow. An agile working method has also been applied during the project. Sketching together with 3D-modeling has been used as a method to visualize the different concepts and ideas that have been developed. Chapter 4 Genomförande (implementation) describes step by step how the project was carried out to arrive at the final concept.   The project result includes a 3D-modeled concept proposal for an improved mounting fixture. The concept is that the fixture is open on one side so that the worker can more easily reach everywhere during the installation of the wall module, and then does not have an uncomfortable working position. The concept proposal answers the questions as it is ergonomically designed to be good for the workers, it does not need electricity to function, and the fixture can handle being in an outdoor environment. However, additional strength calculations need to be carried out, as well as a real prototype to ensure that everything works as it should and to be able to ensure the quality of the product.
