Sammanfattning: This thesis was conducted at CC-Systems in Uppsala, Sweden. CC-Systems develop and deliver control systems for demanding environments. For development and testing of the software for embedded systems, CC-Systems provide simulator software that enables the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) code to execute on a PC rather than on the target hardware. In testing it is common to execute the controller software on a PC together with simulated machine models in order to be able to observe the behaviour of the controller. In some later stages of the development the code is moved to the target hardware for further testing. In order to be able to use the same tools and simulated machine models as in former stages a signal interface between the PC and the target hardware is needed. This thesis explores the possibility of using COTS (Commercial off-the-shelf) products instead of building custom electronics for generating and acquiring these signals. The product range is in this thesis limited to the C-series from National Instruments. The result is a demonstrator for a solution based on CompactRIO hardware with communication to and from the CC-System simulation platform, CCSimTech. The suggested solution satisfies the request for a user friendly and extendible way of communicating.
