Female breast cancer patients' life experienceafter breast reconstruction : A descriptive literature review

Sammanfattning: Background: Breast cancer is one of the common cancers that harmed woman's health. There are many ways to treat breast cancer, including breast surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and so on. More and more women are choosing to have breast reconstruction surgery because of the many effects that could receive after mastectomy. The impact of breast reconstruction on woman's lives is what we want to explore.Aim: To describe the life experience of breast cancer female patients after breast reconstruction.Design：Descriptive review of qualitative studies.Methods: Literature review was carried out by using keywords in PubMed and CINAHL databases, and the results were analyzed and discussed.Results: A total of ten articles were included in the review. There are four themes in this study: Physical feelings after reconstruction, Psychological changes, A mixed of benefits and problems in sexuality, Impact on social life. After breast reconstruction surgery, women are affected both positively and negatively, which changes the state of a woman's life.Conclusions: Women with breast cancer have different life experiences after breast reconstruction surgery. Women have different ideas about the appearance of breasts after surgery, some women will have breast pain during rehabilitation, psychological state and sexual life will be greatly affected, and some women's social function level has also decreased. Nurses can actively help women adjust their psychological state, give psychological guidance, provide health education, and reduce the negative impact of patients after surgery.Keywords: Mammaplasty, Breast Neoplasms, Experience, Female.
