Trons betydelse i psykoterapi. : En tematisk analys utifrån hur fem psykoterapeuter med vigningstjänst upplever tron i sitt kliniska arbete.

Sammanfattning: Introduction: There is a tension between secular and religious values.Psychotherapy has a secular foundation, while at the same time priests and pastorshave the opportunity to become psychotherapists. The aim of this paper is toexamine how psychotherapists with Christian religious beliefs view thesignificance of their faith in their psychotherapeutic profession. Question: How do psychotherapists with Christian religious beliefs feel that their faith impacts their clinical practice. Method: Five semi-structured interviews was held with licensed psychotherapistsordained in Christian ministry. The interviews were coded using a thematic,inductive analysis. Results: Four themes were found: (1) Pastors and priest as psychotherapists; (2) Religious or psychotherapeutic approach; (3) Relationship between psychologyand spirituality; (4) Trust in god as support in the therapy process. Discussion: The results from the thematic analysis are discussed using Attachment theory and the non-repressed unconscious, leading to aninterpretation in terms of trust, difficulties in the transference and god related todescriptions of reality.
