Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Rättssociologiska institutionen

Sammanfattning: In the last couple of years, a conflict between football supporters and police have occurred. This conflict has resulted in many instances of violence between the two parts and protests from the supporters. Some that have been met with even harder legislation around and during football games in Stockholm. The police are actively trying to make a safer envoierment during the games while the supporters are feeling the argument is just a smoke screen to try and crush the culture that exists in these groups. This study explores the norms and norm cultures that exists in these supporter cultures and the discrepancy that exists between the “Law in books” versus the norms these supporters live by. The study will be based around interviews with individuals engaged in supporter groups that are connected to two of the biggest clubs in Stockholm. A lot of research has been done regarding hooliganism but applying theories regarding norms and theories regarding sociology of law gives this phenomenon a new light. What becomes apparent is that individuals that live a relatively “regular” life change, abiding by the laws and norms in society drastically change when in the context of football and these supporter groups. The “Gap problem” that evolves between the law and induvial in the context of “Hooliganism” brings new light to the subject of hooliganism.
