Sammanfattning: Eutrophication is a serious problem that is affecting the Baltic Sea and its streams connecting to it. It brings a negative impact on the biodiversity, the streams recreational value, sport fishing and also the overall ground water quality. Recently, there have been many restoration attempts on streams across Sweden, to try to repair the streams and prevent them from leaking nutrients and minerals into the Baltic Sea. The Södermanland municipality’s mission is to locate environmental problems in one bay; Strandstuviken and propose actions against it. To locate a problem, a field survey was constructed on a connected stream; Arnöbäcken. It was found out that the stream was surrounded by agricultural land and also flowed through an overgrown forest that both contribute with increased nutrient flow. In order to prevent the increased nutrient flow, several proposals have been made, such as meandering and creation of wetlands.
