Sammanfattning: The purpose of the study was to investigate how dogs affect their owners’ health, and if there are any differences in health between dog owners and statistical surveys of the Swedish population. In this study, a quantitative questionnaire was used, with questions based on previous research and recommendations of different lifestyle factors affecting human health, such as exercise, sleep, etc. A request was advertised in diverse groups on Facebook. The study group was people aged 25 to 35, who have a dog today or have had a dog earlier, and have a job. The results showed that respondents exercised more while they have dogs compared with times when they did not have a dog. Among the results, there can also be seen that there are differences in alcohol consumption, tobacco consumption, how often the respondents interact with friends or family, depending on whether the respondents have a dog or not. My conclusions are that there are interesting differences depending on whether you have a dog or not. However, the author can not draw conclusions about causation of the study.
