Sammanfattning: The purpose of this paper in the course PPU305 Product development - Construction is to develop a lunch box that allows the user to bring different kinds of food without having to bring several lunch boxes. The lunch boxes end up in the bottom of the bag or under a book and create a source of irritation for the user. This paper is a cooperation between the students and the company Nordiska Plast AB. The goal with this paper is to be able to answer the following two questions: What kind of lunch box is most suitable for students? And how should a lunchbox that separates cold and warm food when heated function and look like?   Based on these questions the group started a product development process, this process is built on six steps, 0-5. In step 0 the group planned the project and in step 1 the group's conclusion was to create two lunchboxes, one big and one small that are supposed to click together. The smaller one of the two should have a divider to separate sauce and salad. In step 2 the group developed a system for the two separate lunch boxes that allows them to click together with each other. The first system was not effective enough and the group had to do step 2 again. After step 2 was redone, the group started with step 3, the detail development of the product where they decided the material and volume of the box. The material was decided based on the material library that the company uses, the information given by the company was supported by the program Granta Edupack. In part 4 of the project the group 3D printed the lids and the lunchboxes to test and evaluate their concept. Part 5 wasn’t involved in this project. (Ulrich & Eppinger, 2012, s. 45)   The result of the first question: What kind of lunch box is most suitable for students? Is that the students want a lunch box that looks like the company’s Everyday box 1,1L. The students also want a colored lid that matches the box, so it is easier to find the right lid to the right box. The students want a two-component lid since it takes a little more power to put one of those lids on the lunchbox and that makes the lunchbox feel more secure.   The answer to question number two: How should a lunchbox that separates cold and warm food when heated function and look like? would be a lunch box that stores food in two different containers, one is created for warm food and the other one is created for cold food with a divider that allows the user to bring salad and sauce, for example. The design shouldn’t be complicated because that doesn’t make the lunch box more attractive for the customer.   The analysis of the result is that all the requirements of the requirement specification are accommodated except two, those can be seen in the requirement specification (see table 5). Those requirements were not prioritized so the group is happy with the result.    The conclusion of this project is that the group has learned to use the product development process in a professional way. The project has given the group the knowledge on how a product development process between a group and a company can look like.
