16. Social diversity for ecosystem management in La Palma Biosphere Reserve, Canary Islands : Perspectives, knowledge and management practices among local stewards in the near-shore marine ecosystem
Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Stockholm Resilience CentreSammanfattning : Adaptive approaches to ecosystem management emphasize that ecosystems need to be treated as complex social-ecological systems. Furthermore, both ecological and social diversity need to be enhanced to improve the adaptability of such systems to surprises. LÄS MER
17. Determining the depth of magma storage by investigation of samples from the eruption on La Palma 1971
Kandidat-uppsats, Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : The Canary islands are formed by a slow moving hotspot, from Fuerteventura 20 Ma to el Hierro 1.2Ma years old and La Palma is in the shield building stage of evolution. La Palma had its last eruption 1971 and has had seven eruptions since 1430, which makes it the most active of the islands in our times. LÄS MER
18. Disintegration and Devolatilisation of Sandstone Xenolith in Magmatic Conduits: an Experimental Approach
Kandidat-uppsats, BerggrundsgeologiSammanfattning : Xenoliths preserve evidence of magma-crust interactions in magmatic reservoirs and conduits. They reveal processes of partial melting of country rock, and disintegration into magma. Widespread evidence for frothy xenoliths in volcanic deposits exists, and these evidently indicate processes of gas liberation, bubble nucleation and bubble growth. LÄS MER
19. Välkommen till Kanarieöarna. Våldsam skillnadspolitik i bemötandet av turister och båtflyktingar
Kandidat-uppsats, Malmö högskola/Fakulteten för kultur och samhälle (KS)Sammanfattning : This is a qualitative case study about tourists and boat migrants in movement to and in place on the Canary Islands, Spain. 20. A geochemical characterization of the lower part of the Miocene shield-building lavas on Gran Canaria
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionenSammanfattning : Ocean islands offer a great potential to provide information about mantle processes and the composition of the mantle. Gran Canaria is located in the centre of the Canary Island Archipelago and is well suited for such studies. A comprehensive study of the lower Miocene shield-building lavas is performed for this thesis. LÄS MER
