    Sammanfattning : Increasing tree growth and mortality rates in Europe are still poorly understood and have been attributed to a variety of drivers. This study aimed to relate increasing forest mortality rates in six central European countries to climate drivers (CO2 concentration, temperature and precipitation) from 1985-2015, using a process-based vegetation model.     Sammanfattning : European rivers experience increasing concentrations of total organic carbon (TOC) from terrestrial sources due to factors involving changes in land use, climate and soil acidity. However, low interest is given to the evolution of total organic nitrogen (TON) concentrations in surface waters, the links with TOC concentrations and the influence of the surrounding land cover on nutrient inputs.
