  1. 1. Characterization of Pressure and Velocity Fields in Acoustophoresis Using Particle Tracks

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Författare :Jonathan Karlsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Acoustofluidics; Acoustophoresis; Ultrasonic Standing Waves; Acoustic fields; Particle tracking; Bio marking; Akustofluidik; Akustofores; Stående Ultraljuds Vågor; Akustiska fält; Particle tracking; Bio-markering;

    Sammanfattning : This master’s thesis explores the possibility of calculating and using the pressure andvelocity fields responsible for acoustophoresis. The goal was to use simulated data,similar to two-dimensional particle tracks from a specific microfluidic platform, toestimate the force potential and solve the partial differential equation (PDE) thatgoverns the relationship between the force potential and the acoustic fields. 2. 2. The effect of furniture on room acoustic parameters and its dependence on the sound absorbing properties of the ceiling

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/Teknisk akustik; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för byggvetenskaper

    Författare :Huong Nguyen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Room acoustics; furniture; Sabine s formula; SEA model; sound absorption; sound scattering; reverberation time; speech clarity; sound strength; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : In ordinary public rooms such as classrooms and offices, the base line of acoustical treatment is an absorbent suspended ceiling. Due to the non-uniform distribution of the absorptive ceiling material, the scattering as well as the absorption properties of furniture will have a significant effect on room acoustic parameters such as reverberation time, speech clarity and sound strength. 3. 3. JÄMFÖRELSE AV KLIMATPÅVERKANFÖR GLASULL OCH POLYURETAN : MPARISON OF CLIMATE IMPACT FOR GLASS WOOL AND POYURETHANE

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Kaleb Abraham; Andreas Lust; [2023]
    Nyckelord :: Climate impact; Climate declaration; LCA; EPD; GWP; CO2e; glass wool; polyurethane; Klimatpåverkan; Klimatdeklaration; LCA; EPD; GWP; CO2e; glasull; polyuretan;

    Sammanfattning : This study examines the climate impact of the thermal insulation materials, glass wool and polyurethane. Two wall constructions with a size of one square meter are used in the study to compare their carbon footprints and determine which material has the lowest environmental impact. For the walls to be comparable, they need to have the same U-value. LÄS MER

  4. 4. 3D geospatial data requirements for simulating noise using the Nord2000 model: Case study of the impact of building façade types and roof configurations on simulated traffic noise levels

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Soraya Hosseinvash Azari; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography; Ecosystem Analysis; noise simulation; traffic; Nord2000 model; building façade types; roof configurations; geospatial data; 3CIM; SoundPLAN; acoustic properties; urban areas; 3D city model; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The European Union implements the Environmental Noise Directive (END), which offers a framework for evaluating and assessing environmental noise. All EU members are required to create strategic noise maps to inform the public about noise pollution and its effects. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The development of an acoustic insulation solution using mushroom mycelium as an alternative to synthetic foams

    Magister-uppsats, Jönköping University/JTH, Industridesign

    Författare :Adrián Brito Guerrero de Escalante; [2023]
    Nyckelord :mycelium composites; design thinking; design for emotion; sustainability; acoustic insulation; fungi; mushrooms.;

    Sammanfattning : In the past decades, humanity is facing the consequences of the irresponsible production of plastics and the expansion of industries such as industrial agriculture, Therefore, the development of new sustainable alternative materials has become increasingly popular as a science field. That is the case of mycelium composites, a biodegradable material made out of agricultural and the thread-like roots of mushrooms called mycelium. LÄS MER
