2. Characterization of PLA Nanoplastics, and Their Effects on Daphnia magna
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntesSammanfattning : As plastic pollution in aquatic environments keeps happening it has become more and more important to learn more about nanoparticles. Bio-based and biologically degradable plastics, such as polylactic acid (PLA), are gaining popularity and it is therefore important to determine whether they break down into nanoplastics or not. 3. Hur påverkas markorganismerna av jordbruksmetoden strukturkalkning?
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildningSammanfattning : This field study was done to get an understanding of how the agricultural method called “structural liming” might affect soil organisms in a negative way. Soil organisms are crucial as they perform biological processes that improve good soil structure. This is important as it enables sustainable food production, today, and in the future. LÄS MER
4. Methods for production of recombinant enzymes for collagen degradation
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Tillämpad biokemi; Lunds universitet/BeräkningskemiSammanfattning : In this thesis eight enzymes have been identified with documented ability to degrade collagen or its hydrolyzed products. Collagen can be found in skin, bones, and connective tissue. Hydrolyzed collagen peptides are utilized in food, disease treatment, skincare and training supplements. LÄS MER
5. Evaluating Sugar Signaling during Xylose Oxidation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologiSammanfattning : The sugar signaling state of cells oxidizing xylose was investigated through the chromosomal integration of the Weimberg pathway into previously established biosensor strains capable of monitoring the Snf3p/Rgt2p, SNF1/Mig1p, and cAMP/PKA pathways through the expression of HXT1, SUC2, and TPS1, respectively. Ultimately, two new strains were successfully developed containing both the Weimberg pathway and a biosensor for either HXT1 (TMB CB 112) or TPS1 (TMB CB 117). LÄS MER
