  1. 1. MANGO - Generating 2D-Magnetic Field Maps From Normal-Conducting Magnets Of Experimental Areas

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fysik

    Författare :Ambre Visive; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Applied Physics; Particle Physics; MANGO; Magnetic Field Maps; Normal-Conducting Magnets; Finite-Element Modelling; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Beam Lines; Experimental Areas; CERN; Tillämpad Fysik; Partikelfysik; MANGO; Magnetfältskartor; Normalkonduktiva Elektromagneter; Finit Elementmodellering; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Partikelstrållinje; Experimentområden; CERN;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses the development of MANGO, a tool created to model normal-conducting magnets which were installed in the 1970s in the experimental areas at CERN, and store their analysis. MANGO formulates an answer to two problems faced by the physicists of the Beam Department when they model a beam line: first, how to produce new magnetic field maps and, second, how to easily access existing ones? It contains a multi-use package that offers an automated process to produce magnetic field maps from finite-element models of magnets. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Tuning Photovoltaic Properties of Two-dimensional Molybdenum Disulfide by Alloying: An ab initio study

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Mochen Li; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Photovoltaic; Molybdenum disulfide; Absorption coefficient; ab initio material design; Fotovoltaisk; Molybdendisulfid; Absorptionskoefficient; ab initio materialdesign;

    Sammanfattning : Addressing the urgent need for innovative energy solutions amidst increasing environmental concerns, the focus on photovoltaic solar cells is intensifying. Currently limited by the Shockley-Queisser limit, conventional silicon-based solar cells offer a maximum power conversion efficiency of 32%. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Flight dynamics multi-mission software development for optical link planning and execution

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Lättkonstruktioner, marina system, flyg- och rymdteknik, rörelsemekanik

    Författare :Giacomo Dal Toso; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Generic Planning Tool; Visibility Service; Link Support Service; Visibility Windows; Flight Dynamics; Mission Planning;

    Sammanfattning : The Generic Planning Tool (GPT) is a new software package being developed by the Flight Dynamics team at DLR. In an era where laser communications are becoming more and more relevant to data transmission for space missions, the GPT’s purpose is to compute highly accurate visibility windows and provide a wide variety of support information for both satellite-to-ground and inter-satellite links. 4. 4. Implementing SAE Techniques to Predict Global Spectacles Needs

    Master-uppsats, Högskolan Dalarna/Institutionen för information och teknik

    Författare :Yuxue Zhang; [2023]
    Nyckelord :small area estimation; area-level model; empirical best linear unbiased prediction EBLUP ; generalized linear mixed models; Conditional Autoregressive; spatial correlation; spectacle needs; assistive products; auxiliary data; hglm; relative standard error; simulation;

    Sammanfattning : This study delves into the application of Small Area Estimation (SAE) techniques to enhance the accuracy of predicting global needs for assistive spectacles. By leveraging the power of SAE, the research undertakes a comprehensive exploration, employing arange of predictive models including Linear Regression (LR), Empirical Best Linear Unbiased Prediction (EBLUP), hglm (from R package) with Conditional Autoregressive (CAR), and Generalized Linear Mixed Models (GLMM). 5. 5. Optimizing E-commerce Logistics: A Multi-Metric Approach to the Bin Packing Problem

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Författare :Vilhelm Melkstam; Anton Magnusson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :bin packing problem; logistics; order partitioning; e-commerce;

    Sammanfattning : The optimization of package selection in logistics, particularly within the realm of e-commerce, offers numerous potential advantages, such as a reduction in environmental impact and decreased costs. This thesis addresses the problem of allocating items to the minimum number of packages, known as the bin packing problem, by proposing various heuristics. LÄS MER
