16. Comprehensive Venus boundaries model : Empirical dependency of boundaries on the upstream conditions
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : Since Venus is an unmagnetized planet, it doesn’t interact with the solar wind in the same way as planets with an intrinsic magnetic field do. Due to its conductive ionosphere, however, it still possesses an induced magnetosphere. LÄS MER
17. Cross-Lingual and Genre-Supervised Parsing and Tagging for Low-Resource Spoken Data
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för lingvistik och filologiSammanfattning : Dealing with low-resource languages is a challenging task, because of the absence of sufficient data to train machine-learning models to make predictions on these languages. One way to deal with this problem is to use data from higher-resource languages, which enables the transfer of learning from these languages to the low-resource target ones. LÄS MER
18. A Preliminary Observation: Can One Linguistic Feature Be the Deterministic Factor for More Accurate Fake News Detection?
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för lingvistik och filologiSammanfattning : This study inspected three linguistic features, specifically the percentage of nouns per sentence, the percentage of verbs per sentence, as well as the mean of dependency distance of the sentence, and observed their respective influence on the fake news classification accuracy. In comparison to the previous studies where linguistic features are combined as a set to be leveraged, this study attempted to untangle the effective individual features from the previously proposed optimal sets. 19. Generalized Bühlmann-Straub credibility theory for correlated data
Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Matematiska institutionenSammanfattning : In this thesis, we first go through classical results from the field of credibility theory. One of the most well-known models in the field is the Büuhlmann-Straub model. The model is relatively straightforward to apply in practice and is widely used. A major advantage of the model is its simplicity and intuitive dependency on its model parameters. LÄS MER
20. The implication of a changing West Antarctic Ice Sheet on future sea levels and policymaking in Sweden
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknikSammanfattning : This paper examines the future possible consequences of rising sea levels primarily due to melting Antarctic ice sheets. An objective is to research suitable methods for handling rising sea levels in Sweden. LÄS MER
