  1. 16. Fully developed fires in “low-energy” and “energy-efficient” buildings

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Brandteknik; Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Karlis Livkiss; [2012]
    Nyckelord :Fire; energy conservation; low-energy buildings; vacuum insulating panels; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Buildings use approximately 40% of the total amount of the consumed energy in EU and USA. New design approaches and materials are used to reduce the energy consumption for space heating, ventilation, lightning and other domestic necessities. There is a need to investigate effect of these design features on the fire safety. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Developing Formaldehyde Free Flame Retardant for Cellulose

    Magister-uppsats, Högskolan i Borås/Institutionen Textilhögskolan

    Författare :MD.Abdul Hannan; [2011]
    Nyckelord :cotton cellulose; organophosphorus flame retardant; acetal linkage; low temperature pyrolysis; THC; HRR; char residue; LOI;

    Sammanfattning : Two organophosphorus compounds, namely diethyloxymethyl-9-oxa-10- phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (DOPAC) and diethyl (2,2-diethoxyethyl) phosphonate (DPAC) were applied on cotton cellulose to impart non-carcinogenic and durable (in alkaline washing) flame retardant property to it. Some acidic catalysts, sodium dihydrogen phosphate (NaH2PO4), ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (NH4H2PO4) and phosphoric acid (H3PO4), were successfully used to settle acetal linkage between cellulose and flame retardant (FR) compound. 3. 18. Fire safety in military vehicles – Evaluation of ISO 3795

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Brandingenjörsprogrammet; Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Brandteknik; Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Johan Svebrant; [2011]
    Nyckelord :ISO 3795; ISO 5660; cone calorimeter; FMVSS 302; test method; heat release rate; HRR; time to ignition; interior materials; military vehicles; fire safety; fire tests; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This work has evaluated ISO 3795. It was found that ISO 3795 isn’t a suitable method to test interior materials and its use has led to a low level of fire safety in military vehicles. A different test method to be used for fire testing interior materials in military vehicles was suggested; ISO 5660 cone calorimeter. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Risk analysis of the oil depot in Örfirisey

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Brandteknik; Lunds universitet/Riskhantering (CI); Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Thorvaldur Helgi Audunsson; [2006]
    Nyckelord :Örfirisey; Oil depot; Risk analysis; Quantitative risk analysis; QRA; Olíudreifing; ODR; Risk evaluation; Societal risk; Individual risk; Heat release rate; HRR; Fire; Uncertainty; Tolerable risk; Risk perception; Transportation; Helguvík; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis estimates the risk of the activity at the oil depot in Örfirisey and its location, to its nearby population. The thesis will consider possible risks from the oil depot it self in case of fire, today, in relation to health and safety. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Preliminary study on the role of moisture and extractives of ornamental plants on the flammability

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Brandteknik; Lunds universitet/Brandingenjörsprogrammet; Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Marcus Larsson; Micael Lundqvist; [1997]
    Nyckelord :moisture content; extractives; fire-weather; plant stressing; Juniper Chinensis; Wildland fires; California; flammability; HRR; heat value.; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The many and costly wildland fires in later years have created a demand for better knowledge about the spreading of the wildland fire on to structures and how you should protect your home against these fires. This report is a part of a large study, “Analysis of the fire risk to structures in the southern California urban-wildland interface”, on these matters performed by the University of California at Berkeley.
